CLASS OVERVIEW

As a practitioner, do you ever feel more like a glorified drug rep than a doctor?

We're excited to announce our master class on Sex Steroid Optimization in Males and Females led by Dr. Mark Holthouse, a distinguished family practitioner and Chief Medical Officer who transformed his own practice from conventional medicine to a successful functional approach.

With 35 years of clinical experience, he brings unique insights that set this master class apart.

In this master class, you will learn how to transform your approach to hormone optimization and provide more comprehensive care options for your patients.

Why hormone optimization is the keystone of successful treatment

What do you do when your patients don’t respond to standard treatment protocols despite your best interventions?

This happens because most practitioners fail to take into account the fundamental role of hormones in overall patient health. For example:
  • GABA receptor sensitivity and progesterone metabolites play a critical role in brain function.
  • Environmental toxins create a complex web of hormonal disruption that can lead to chronic conditions.
  • Gut health and hormone health are intricately connected.

Neglecting to treat hormones when dealing with chronic conditions is a recipe for continued ineffectiveness—but it’s something we can change.

Did You Know...

Only 11 percent of PCOS patients are obese, yet 90 percent show metabolic dysfunction.
Progesterone therapy requires precise timing and dosing strategies.
There is an emerging epidemic of early menarche driven by environmental xenoestrogens.
The gut should be one of the first things you consider when evaluating hormone health.
The emerging GELDING theory (Gut Endotoxin Leading to Decline In Gonadal Function) is transforming our understanding of hormone optimization and revealing why treating the gut may be crucial for optimal hormone levels.
Research shows hormone therapy may reduce Alzheimer's risk by 30 percent when started within five years of menopause.

Introducing…a transformative approach to hormone optimization

Dr. Holthouse’s groundbreaking master class is based on over 20 years of experience working with patients in his multi-state practice.

He will share with you his hormone treatment protocols that he used to help transform his own practice from conventional medicine to a successful functional approach—and to bring healing to patients with chronic conditions.

It’s crucial for you to effectively manage your patients’ hormones because they are linked to:
  • Premenopausal conditions and PCOS
  • Environmental toxins
  • Gut health
  • And more

For the last 20 years, he has focused on the art of Functional Medicine, being in the first cohort to obtain Certification as an IFM Certified Practitioner. He went on to obtain his board certification by the American Board of Integrative Medicine, and has logged many hours in both training and teaching. After opening several Functional Medicine Clinics in Northern California, founding the Center for Functional and Integrative Medicine, he was asked to be the Chief Medical Officer and Medical Director for Functional Medicine of Idaho. Dr. Holthouse has been on the teaching faculty at Loma Linda University School of Medicine as an assistant professor teaching preventive cardio-metabolic medicine since 2013. In 2013, Dr. Holthouse was invited to be part of the teaching faculty for the Institute for Functional Medicine’s Advanced Hormone Module where he has been teaching the past 11 years. Dr. Holthouse has vast experience as a business owner developing business models for the delivery of this novel approach to medicine and loves mentoring and passing on his knowledge to both his patients and providers.
